25 July 2020-Monroe Classic Golf Tournament-$5.000.00 Donation!

Published on: 9/1/2020

The Craig Hunter Memorial Monroe Classic Invitational Four Ball Golf Tournament was held July 17-19, 2020. This Tournament began in 1967 as an “amateur” event that has grown to be one of the best attended tournaments in the State.  In 2019, the Tournament name was changed in Memory of Craig Hunter, a long time member, who passed away in 2018. His commitment made the Tournament what it is today, which includes charitable contributions to many deserving charities over the years.

The Georgia National Guard Foundation was honored to be the designated charity partner for this great event last year with a generous donation of $5,000.00.  This year, with so many events being cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19, we are all the more appreciative of another $5,000.00 donation!

Committee Members Keith Glass, Robin Pledger, Bob Hill, Jim Hood and Alan Moon presented the contribution to MG Tom Carden and the Georgia National Guard Team that included CSM Jason Bentley, CPT Charles Follin, MAJ Joe Latella, MSG Roger Welborn and CPT Brandon Long for the Foundation at the Monroe Golf & Country Club.  A good time was had by all!  We also want to recognize Tracie Mauldin, Membership & Events Director at the Club for her awesome photography skills!
