Check out the Georgia National Guard History PAGE on Facebook for a great recap of the day’s event by MAJ William Carraway, Historian.  Col (Ret) John Powers did an awesome job recounting the efforts and obstacles to save and relocate the Chapel….from MEMORY, and a slide presentation!

Major General Tom Carden and Major General Dwayne Wilson attended and thanked John and the organizing members and supporters from the Dobbins Chapel Foundation for their commitment and perseverance to relocate and restore the WWII Chapel.

Special Thanks to Col David Burris, State Chaplain, and Danette Lazenby-Coronado from the Chaplains Office for hosting the event.  Veterans, service and community members filled the pews with positive thoughts and heartfelt memories.  A great legacy to share with military members and their families that truly was “meant to be”!
