THE GEORGIA NATIONAL GUARD FAMILY SUPPORT FOUNDATION, INC. is a self-funded charitable corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization in 1996.
Although not a military organization, the Foundation is considered an official support organization of the Georgia National Guard.
A simple “check-off” box on Georgia Form 500 Individual Income Tax Return allows taxpayers to make donations that will be automatically deducted from their refund or included in their payment. The Foundation is one of nine charities approved by the Georgia Legislature with this special designation. More than $1,102,827.00 in donations have been collected for the Georgia National Guard Foundation from Individual Georgia Taxpayers through the Georgia Department of Revenue since 2005!
The Foundation has approved more than $3,000,000.00 in financial assistance to over 3,500 military members.
